About the Facility

The Electron Nanoscopy Instrumentation Facility (ENIF) provides state-of-the-art tools for materials and nanoscience research to characterize structural materials at the atomic/nano/microscale. The facility includes specialized sample preparation tools, electron microscopy images, diffraction and spectral data analysis, and processing software and hardware. Staff support is available for training, consultation on application and related theories, and research monitoring and assistance.

The facility's scope is materials characterization, mainly on a scale from 10 micrometers down to the near-atomic level, including topography, morphology, elemental composition, crystalline microstructure, crystal defects, and atomic arrangements.
